The Barrier-Free Public Transport Summer School 2025 - Vienna is an immersive learning experience focused on creating a barrier-free, accessible, cross-border, inclusive public transport system.

Venue and Date

• The virtual part will take place on 01 July and 22 July 2025
• The physical part will take place from 7 July to 11 July 2025 in Vienna (WU Vienna University of Economics and Business, Welthandelsplatz 1, 1020 Wien) - with a field trip to Slovakia

Importance of the Program

The BFPT Summer School aims to bring together experts, individuals with disabilities, and students to explore the essential components of a barrier-free, cross-border, accessible, inclusive public transport system. Through a blend of lectures, workshops, and field trips, participants will delve into the intricacies of creating a truly inclusive transportation network that caters to the diverse needs of all travelers.

Language of Instruction

The lectures will be given in English.

This program is ideal for students of all academic levels - whether pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree. It is suitable for those passionate about creating inclusive societies and interested in the intersection of public transport, accessibility, and European integration.

Costs and ECTS

• Some costs are covered by the organizer, including accommodation in OEAD student housing (double room) at Molkereistrafle 1, 1020 Vienna.
• There is no tuition fee for the courses lectures and workshops.
• All materials, excursions, and coffee breaks will be provided by the organizer of the summer school.
• Participants are expected to bring their own laptops.
• Participants will receive 3 ECTS points upon completion of the program.

• Application deadline: 28 February 2025
• The number of participants is limited to 30.
• Notification of acceptance: 7 days after the application deadline.
• To apply, participants must submit a short CV and a motivational letter.
