Program Overview
The Innovative Design Studio: Forming the Public Architecture with Landscape in the Built Environment is a hybrid program that takes place from July 25th to August 12th. The program focuses on designing architectural objects in various locations within Wrocaw ZOO, with a design theme that emphasizes bionic green architecture and harmony between the built and natural environments.
Program Details
The program studies medium-size urban sites in major cities in Central and Eastern Europe, with a particular focus on designing multifunctional conference and exhibition pavilions that ensure ecological balance and sustainable development. Students will explore various themes, including spatial, energy, societal, and acoustical aspects, and will work together to design part of their own study pathway through workshops, lectures, excursions, and other curricular activities.
Program Objectives
- Develop theoretical and practical knowledge to create new concepts, functional programs, methods, and practices in architectural design
- Acquire knowledge of innovative design methods and contemporary trends, such as research by design, system thinking, and design thinking
- Cultivate skills to creatively design public buildings with complex functions and spatial programs in various urban contexts
Program Requirements
- Required: competence in the basics of architectural design
- Desirable: ability to effectively utilize contemporary architectural design software, such as:

Program Credits
The program offers 4 ECTS credits, equivalent to 60 hours of study.
Program Outcomes
Upon completion of the program, participants will have gained the skills and knowledge necessary to develop innovative architectural designs that balance the built and natural environments, and will be able to apply their knowledge in a variety of urban contexts.
