The program focuses on the main expressions of ancient architecture, with a greater emphasis on sacred architecture and the temple within a sanctuary.
Program Structure
- The program includes 40 hours of lectures.
- The program runs from March 2026 to May 2026.
Examination Method
The examination method includes a seminar report or written essay, to be agreed upon with the instructor.
Notes on Examination Method
During the teaching module, there will be opportunities for in-depth study of some aspects of the discipline through readings and discussions of some essays or articles. Students will be invited to contribute according to their level of preparation. Educational visits and exercises in museums and archaeological sites will allow for the evaluation of the learning of notions and basic knowledge.
Prerequisites
The course is primarily intended for students of the doctoral course.
Teaching Program
The course focuses on the main expressions of ancient architecture, with a greater emphasis on sacred architecture and the temple within a sanctuary. The reading of some passages from Marco Vitruvio Pollione's De Architectura will allow students to familiarize themselves with some theoretical questions, technical lexicon, and aesthetic discussions.
