Introduction to the Maritime Training Program

The Dalian Maritime University is offering an online training program for maritime personnel, specifically for the positions of Captain, Chief Officer, Chief Engineer, and Second Engineer. The program is designed to support companies in their efforts to resume work and production during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Program Details

The program will be conducted online, with the following details:

• Training categories: Captain, Chief Officer, Chief Engineer, and Second Engineer
• Start date: March 26, 2020
• Duration: Approximately 3-4 months
• Registration deadline: March 24, 2020

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for the program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Provide a completed application form
• Submit required documents, including:
  • Identity card and photocopy
  • Color photo with a white background
  • Seafarer's service book and photocopy
  • Certificate of competence and photocopy
  • Seafarer's identity document and photocopy
• Meet the requirements specified in the "Regulations on the Examination and Certification of Maritime Personnel" (2017 No. 8)

Program Structure

The program will be conducted online, with theoretical courses to be completed during the pandemic period. Once the pandemic is over, the program will resume with on-site teaching and practical training.

Evaluation and Certification

• Trainees must complete the online training and pass the examination to obtain a certificate of completion.
• The certificate is a prerequisite for taking the maritime personnel certification examination.
• Trainees who fail to meet the attendance requirement of 90% will not be allowed to take the examination and must re-take the training.
