Introduction to the University Program

The Office of General Education (GenEd) at King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi has initiated a project to enhance the capabilities of its faculty members in designing curricula and courses based on the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach.

The program, titled " OBE," aims to develop the competencies of faculty members in designing courses and curricula that align with the OBE framework. The program is part of the university's efforts to improve the quality of education and enhance the learning outcomes of its students.

Program Objectives

The program objectives include:

• Enhancing the capabilities of faculty members in designing curricula and courses based on the OBE approach
• Improving the quality of education and learning outcomes of students
• Developing the competencies of faculty members in managing education based on the OBE framework

Program Structure

The program consists of two main components:

1. Lectures and Discussions: Participants will engage in lectures and discussions on topics such as:
   • Analysis of stakeholder needs
   • Defining learning outcomes
   • Designing constructive alignment
   • Creating learning activities that align with learning outcomes
2. Practical Exercises: Participants will engage in practical exercises to design curricula and courses based on the OBE approach.

Program Details

The program was held from June 28 to July 1, 2023, at the Novotel Bangkok Platinum hotel. The program included a special lecture on "Trends in Higher Education" by Associate Professor Dr. Bundit Tipagorn.

The program aims to enhance the capabilities of faculty members in designing curricula and courses that align with the OBE framework, ultimately improving the quality of education and learning outcomes of students.
