Program Overview


Project Management Course

Description

The Project Management course explores the reasons behind project failures and time and cost overruns. It covers three key aspects of project management: the theory, methods, and quantitative tools used to plan, organize, and control projects; techniques for managing projects effectively; and hands-on project management knowledge through optimization and simulation exercises.


Objectives

The course objectives include:


  1. Understanding the theory underlying project management methods and tools (WBS, CPM, LP, DSM, PERT, EVM, RM, SD)
  2. Applying project management methods and tools in practice, understanding their limitations
  3. Learning from class discussions and small group assignments

The course is taught in presence.


Learning Methods

Class sessions combine lectures, interactive exercises, group presentations, and discussions to enhance students' technical, decision-making, problem-solving, and practical skills. Class attendance must be at least 80% of classes.
