The course covers sequences and series of real numbers, the idea of convergence, real functions in one variable, continuity, differentiation, and integration.
Course Objectives
This course teaches the essentials of real analysis relevant to informatics, highlighting applications of theoretical concepts whenever possible. Upon completion, students will possess the mathematical skills required to solve basic problems in a formal and structured way and will have developed a good understanding of differential and integral calculus.
Teaching Methodology
The topics are presented in the form of lectures and tutorials, with weekly homework assignments that are partially graded and discussed.
Examination Method
The course grade is determined by the results of the homework assignments (10%), the written midterm exam (40%), and the written final exam (50%).
