Program Overview
Microeconomics Program
Description
The Microeconomics course aims to develop students' skills in understanding, analyzing, and applying decision-making processes of economic actors (consumers, businesses, public authorities) and the functioning of markets in which they operate and interact.
The course is essentially structured into two parts. The first part is dedicated to the study of fundamental concepts of microeconomic theory with reference to competitive market forms. The second part aims to deepen the modes of interaction between different actors in non-competitive market forms (such as oligopoly and monopoly) and introduce some problems related to the absence of markets (asymmetric information, externalities, and public goods).
Frontal lessons will attempt, as far as possible, to involve the class also through the discussion of case studies or thematic insights taken from the current economic context.
The objective is to enable students to clearly understand the interaction between key concepts, to grasp them comprehensively through practice, and to understand how they actually apply to markets and businesses.
