Industrial Organization I
Description
Introduction to the modern theory of Industrial Organization, focusing on industries with limited competition and its implications from both theoretical and practical points of view. Topics include basic monopoly and oligopoly theory, price competition, cartels, mergers and acquisitions, and the analysis of regulation of network industries.
Objectives
The course aims to provide an understanding of the working of industries with limited competition, covering aspects such as monopoly and oligopoly theory, price competition, and the regulation of network industries.
Teaching Mode
The course is taught in presence.
Learning Methods
Class lectures are held by Prof. Jametti, and in-class exercises are conducted by the assistant.
Examination Information
Grading is based 100% on the final exam. Industrial Organization I corresponds to the first half of the course (weeks 17), while Industrial Organization II covers the second half (weeks 814).
