Introduction to the Master's Program in Performing Arts
The Master's Program in Performing Arts at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) is designed to provide professionals in the field of performing arts with a comprehensive understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of their craft. The program aims to equip students with the necessary tools to create, reflect, and investigate the various manifestations of performing arts from a contemporary and interdisciplinary perspective.
Program Objectives
The objectives of the Master's Program in Performing Arts are:
- To provide students with a conceptual framework and methodological tools to reflect on and investigate performing arts practices from a theoretical and critical perspective.
- To train high-level researchers and creators in the field of performing arts.
- To foster an understanding of the historical, social, and cultural contexts of performing arts.
Target Audience
The program is directed towards professionals from various disciplines, including humanities, communication sciences, social sciences, architecture, cultural management, and education, as well as actors, directors, playwrights, set designers, choreographers, dancers, musicians, composers, and visual artists.
Program Duration
The Master's Program in Performing Arts has a duration of two years, consisting of four academic semesters.
Tuition Fees
The total cost of the program is S/42,446.40, which is subject to variations. A 5% discount is available for cash payments, and a 10% discount is offered to PUCP graduates.

Academic Degree and Certification
Upon completion of the program, students are awarded the degree of Master in Performing Arts by the PUCP. After completing the first year of studies (24 credits), students can receive a Diploma of Postgraduate Studies in Performing Arts.
Admission Requirements
To apply for the program, students must submit the following documents:

- Simple copy of DNI.
- For foreign applicants, a simple copy of the passport or alien registration card.

- Record of undergraduate studies.
- Letter of motivation.
- Payment for the right to apply.

- Calificación del expediente (25 points).
- Entrevista (35 points).
- Carta de motivación (25 points).
- Evaluación de Competencias Académicas para el Posgrado (ECAP) (15 points).

Profile of the Graduate
Upon completing the program, graduates will have acquired the necessary tools to create, reflect, and investigate performing arts practices from a contemporary and interdisciplinary perspective. They will be able to analyze performing arts phenomena and events from a multi- and interdisciplinary approach, considering their historical, social, and cultural contexts. Graduates will also have consolidated their own notion of performing arts and will have developed a stance as artists or researchers in the field. Their professional field can include artistic creation, university teaching, academic research, consulting, and criticism.
