Program Overview
Introduction to the Quechua Program
The Quechua program is designed to teach the Quechua language, spoken by over eight million Latin Americans and at least four million Peruvians in its various dialects. The program offers an online modality, providing students with the opportunity to learn Quechua through videoconferencing sessions with a teacher.
Program Description
The program aims to cover basic communication needs through strategies that take into account the social and cultural characteristics of the Quechua world today. The course materials, "Rimanakusun" and "Astawan rimanakusun," are exclusive to the Pontificia Universidad Cat¾lica del Per· and have been developed by specialists in pedagogy and experts in the Quechua language.
Requirements
The program is open to young people and adults aged 14 and above.
Course Characteristics and Teaching
- The course will be taught through videoconferencing sessions using the Zoom platform.
- The teacher will accompany students in real-time, facilitating their learning during the scheduled class days and hours.
- Students will need to connect with their teacher and classmates through the Zoom platform at the scheduled time.
Technical Requirements
To access the course, students must meet the following technical requirements:
- A computer or mobile device with internet access
- A webcam and microphone for videoconferencing
Organization
The program is organized into four levels: Rimanakusun 1, 2, 3, and 4. Each level has a specific number of cycles, and students can choose from different frequencies, including daily, interdaily, and Saturday classes.
Calendar and Investment
The program offers various frequencies and schedules, with corresponding prices:
- Daily frequency: 2 hours, 1 month, S/ 260
- Interdaily frequency: 4 hours, 1 month, S/ 270
- Saturday frequency: 4 hours, 2 months, S/ 270

Matriculation
To enroll in the program, students must follow these steps:
- New students or those without a valid classification must take an online classification exam.
- Current students with a valid classification can enroll through the Extranet Idiomas.
- For the new level Rimanakusun 4, students must meet specific requirements, including passing the previous level or taking a classification exam.
Material and Access to Classes
- Students will receive access to the course materials, including an E-book, after enrolling.
- To access the classes, students must log in to the Extranet Idiomas and click on the "Access to classes" option.
Certification
Upon completing the program, students can request a certificate of level, which certifies their ability to communicate in Quechua.
