A study on the relevance of consumer rights and protections in the context of innovative energy-related services

Building on technological development, changes in consumer preferences, and an evolving legal framework, old and new market players are providing consumers (i.e., residential customers) with innovative energy-related services.

Specialised Training on the Regulation of Gas Markets

Course Overview

The FSR Gas Fundamentals covers the basic principles and rules applying to gas markets, including infrastructure regulation, network codes, balancing markets, gas hubs functioning, market incentives, and restrictions.

Audience & Levels

The training is primarily targeted at staff from energy utilities, TSOs, and representatives from National and European Regulatory Authorities or other public bodies, but also academics and researchers with an interest in gas market regulation.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

• Explain key trends in the gas supply and demand dynamics,
• Indicate the main changes in the EU gas market, as well as the current obstacles to closer internal gas market integration,
• Understand the logic and impact of the main EU policies on gas markets functioning
• Compare different regional
  ational models of gas market regulation worldwide and indicate the benefits of their implementation,
• Assess existing and future implementation plans for EU network codes,
• Evaluate new gas infrastructure projects and find the optimal solution to support security of supply.

Please arrange your travel and accommodation as soon as possible as Florence is very popular in this period. The fee covers participation in the training, coffee breaks, lunches, and any meals or social activities outlined in the event programme. Travel and accommodation costs are not included.
