Program Overview


Adult First Aid, CPR and AED Certifications

The Adult and pediatric CPR/automated external defibrillator/First Aid certifications and recertifications are offered at the SDSU Miller Wellness Center through the American Red Cross. This course teaches participants the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed.


Course Description

During this course, candidates will participate in a practice of skills and a classroom-based review of Red Cross administrative policies and procedures. All candidates must be present for all sessions in order to successfully pass the course in addition to the prerequisites and coursework requirements.


Prerequisites

  • Complete the online portion of the course/class prior to arrival at the facility.
  • Candidates must bring their completed online training certificate in order to proceed with the course.
  • To complete the course, candidates must be able to successfully demonstrate the skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person.

Course Dates and Fees

Courses will be held in the Miller Wellness Center large conference room. Registration closes one week prior to each class. Spring registration opens Dec. 1.


  • SDSU students and members: $60 plus tax
  • Nonmembers: $80 plus tax
    • The American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED program provides participants with the knowledge and skills they need to recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies.
    • The courses in this program teach participants the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed.
    • The intended audience for the courses in this program includes lay responders in the workplace and community.
