Program Overview


Doctoral Training Program

The Doctoral Training Program is designed for doctoral students who began their education in the academic year 2025/2026. The program aims to provide students with a comprehensive education and research experience, enabling them to achieve their learning outcomes.


Program Structure

The program consists of several modules, including:


  • Basic Module (obligatory courses)
  • Complementary Module (elective courses)
  • Lecture Module (series of lectures)
  • Noncompulsory Module (noncompulsory, elective courses)

Basic Module

The Basic Module includes obligatory courses that students must complete. The courses are designed to provide students with a solid foundation in their field of study. The module includes courses such as:


  • Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) training
  • Methodology of scientific research
  • English for academic purposes
  • Intellectual property in practice, legal and ethical aspects of scientific activity
  • Economic conditions of science

Complementary Module

The Complementary Module includes elective courses that students can choose from. The module requires students to obtain a minimum of 2 ECTS credits. The courses are designed to provide students with additional knowledge and skills in their field of study. The module includes courses such as:


  • Methodology of academic teaching
  • Competencies in information and publication
  • AI tools supporting scientific research
  • Development prospects and new scientific trends

Lecture Module

The Lecture Module includes a series of lectures that students must complete. The lectures are designed to provide students with in-depth knowledge in their field of study. The module includes series of lectures such as:


  • Series of lectures 1
  • Series of lectures 2
  • Series of lectures 3
  • Series of lectures 4

Noncompulsory Module

The Noncompulsory Module includes noncompulsory, elective courses that students can choose from. The module is not required to be passed, but it provides students with additional knowledge and skills in their field of study.


Program Requirements

The program requires students to:


  • Complete an individual training program, including obligatory and elective courses
  • Obtain at least 43 ECTS credits, including at least 17 ECTS in the Basic Module, at least 16 ECTS in the Lecture Module, and at least 10 ECTS in the Complementary Module
  • Complete an internship (2 months continuously) and professional practical trainings (up to 60 hours/academic year)
  • Realize an individual research plan, including scientific research, preparation of scientific publications, and doctoral dissertation
  • Be part of the academic community of the University and take part in different forms of activities organized by the Doctoral School and University Units
  • Carry out education and scientific research in the academic community in the country and/or abroad

Education at the Doctoral School is carried out in English.
