Introduction to the Udall Undergraduate Scholarships
The Udall Undergraduate Scholarships are designed for college students who have demonstrated a commitment to participation in cultural activities, service to their community, and environmental stewardship. The scholarships are categorized into three main areas: Tribal Policy, Native Health Care, and Environment.
Program Details
Tribal Policy
The Tribal Policy scholarship is for Native American or Alaska Native college students currently in their sophomore or junior year. These students should have demonstrated a commitment to participation in cultural activities and service to their community. The ideal candidates are those working towards a career that will enable them to make a difference in their tribe or for Native Americans and Alaska Natives.
Native Health Care
The Native Health Care scholarship is for Native American or Alaska Native college students currently in their sophomore or junior year. These students should be interested in improving health care practice and delivery to Indigenous territories or contributing to health care policy and research.
Environment
The Environment scholarship is for all college sophomores or juniors interested in conservation, environmental stewardship, or environmental policy. These students should have demonstrated a commitment to the environment through participation in campus activities or service to their community. The ideal candidates are those working towards a career that will enable them to address environmental issues on a local, national, or global scale.
Benefits
- Winners are awarded up to $7,000 for eligible academic expenses.
- Winners also receive networking opportunities.
Eligibility
- Native American or Alaska Native college students currently in their sophomore or junior year are eligible for the Tribal Policy and Native Health Care scholarships.
- All college sophomores or juniors are eligible for the Environment scholarship.
- Students should have demonstrated a commitment to their respective field of interest through participation in cultural activities, service to their community, or environmental stewardship.
