The program "Nedslag i den moderna skräcklitteraturen" is a 7.5 hp course that explores the modern horror literature genre. According to H.P. Lovecraft, humans' oldest and strongest feeling is fear, and this course delves into the reasons behind our fascination with horror. Students will analyze influential literary works, both classic and modern, within the horror tradition.

Course Description

The course offers students the opportunity to familiarize themselves with significant literary works and their historical and cultural contexts. Students will also explore various theoretical perspectives, from evolutionary explanations to philosophical discussions on the nature of horror. The course will cover the construction of frightening and suspenseful texts, providing a comprehensive understanding of the horror genre.
