Doctoral Student Introduction Programme

The Doctoral Student Introduction Programme at ÷rebro University is designed to provide new doctoral students with a solid introduction to their role and help them navigate the doctoral programme successfully.


Introduction for New Employees

Doctoral students appointed to a doctoral studentship at ÷rebro University will also be invited to take part in the Employee Programme and attend the introduction session for new staff organised by Human Resources.


Local Introduction for Doctoral Students

A local orientation programme offered at the student's school will provide more specific information on issues such as the local organisation, the student's subject, supervision, and various practical aspects concerning their studies.


Lunch Seminar

All new doctoral students will be invited to a lunch seminar once a month. The schedule and registration details can be found in the calendar.


Doctoral Student Section

The introduction is organised in collaboration with the ÷rebro Student Union's Doctoral Student Section. Board members from DokSek will be present at all seminars to answer questions regarding PhD studies.


Seminar Series

The seminar series includes:


  • Migration rules for doctoral candidates and researchers: This seminar will focus on the migration rules for doctoral candidates, discussing current rules and potential changes, as well as regulations after graduation for those who wish to stay in Sweden.
  • Transitioning from PhD to Post Doc: This session aims to give doctoral students insights into the transition from PhD to postdoc, featuring representatives from different institutions who will share their experiences.
