Program Overview

The Medicin, avancerad nivĺ, Examensarbete, 15 hp program is designed for individuals interested in medical science and seeking to deepen their knowledge in current research and development within the field. The program offers students the opportunity to develop advanced knowledge and understanding of the research process.


Program Details

  • The program includes planning and execution of a research project, as well as a written presentation in the form of a thesis or manuscript for a scientific journal.
  • Students will systematically reflect on and evaluate new facts within the area.
  • To complete the research project, it is required that contact with a supervisor is made well in advance of the course start.

Specialization

  • The program is at an advanced level and contains a degree project for a master's degree (A1E).

  • The program is offered by the Institutionen för hälsovetenskaper (Department of Health Sciences).

Course Schedule

  • The course is given during the spring semester of 2026, from week 04 to week 23, at half speed (50%) with mixed teaching time.
  • The course is web-based, with 3 obligatory web-based meetings in Örebro.
  • The teaching is normally conducted in Swedish, but English may be used.

Admission Requirements

  • Prerequisites: 180 higher education credits at the basic level, of which 90 higher education credits with progressive specialization in biomedical laboratory science, pharmacology, biomedicine, medicine, radiography, or equivalent. Additionally, 7.5 higher education credits in scientific method at advanced level, English 6/English B, and Swedish 3/Swedish B are required.
  • Selection: The number of completed higher education credits taken no later than the last application date (TPAV).
