Program Overview


Public International Law with Human Rights, Second Cycle, 15 Credits

The course examines and analyses the system of international law, its basis and components as well as the relationship and tensions within various areas of international law. During the course, a number of methods of international law will be examined as well as the various types of norms within the system. The student will study a number of areas within Public International Law (PIL), such as the law of treaties, the law of territory and natural resources, the law of the sea, human rights, as well as the peaceful settlement of disputes. The student will gain practice by giving oral and written presentations of different theories and problems of international law. The student will also analyse a number of constructed cases and present legal solutions by posing as representatives of different interests and perspectives.
