Program Overview

The program "Kriminalitet ur ett utvecklingsperspektiv - nðr blir det grova vÍldet ett alternativ?" is a 7.5 hp course that provides fundamental knowledge about factors on different levels that can influence the development of aggressive and violent behavior.


Course Description

The course covers individual, social, and environmental conditions that children and young people may face, which can affect the risk of becoming involved in criminal environments and/or committing various types of violent crimes. Students will have the opportunity to apply acquired knowledge to real cases and situations, including reflection on how theoretical knowledge is used or can be used in practical crime prevention work, as well as problematizing criminal policy and practical conditions for preventing negative development in children and young people.


Target Audience

The course is aimed at those interested in learning more about crime from a developmental perspective, particularly those who work or want to work in crime prevention and/or come into contact with children and young people in their work.

  • Level: GrundnivÍ (Basic level)
  • Prerequisites: Endast gymnasiala f—rkunskapskrav (Only upper secondary school qualifications are required)

Course Schedule

The course is given during the summer term of 2026, from week 24 to week 33, at half speed (50%) with blended teaching time. The teaching is normally conducted in Swedish, but English may be used.
