Program Overview

Introduction to the Program

The Management Science and Engineering College at Jinan University was established in 2023, with a history dating back to 1995. The college comprises four undergraduate majors: Information Management and Information Systems, Big Data Management and Application, Standardization Engineering, and Emergency Management. It also offers master's degree programs in Management Science and Engineering, as well as a Professional Master's degree in Engineering Management (MEM) with two fields: Engineering Management (non-full-time) and Logistics Engineering and Management (full-time).

Faculty and Research

The college boasts a team of high-level teachers with rich teaching experience, strong research capabilities, and a spirit of innovation. Over 80% of the faculty hold doctoral degrees, and more than 70% have deputy senior or higher titles. In recent years, teachers have hosted over 20 national-level projects, including two key projects from the National Social Science Foundation. They have also published over 150 high-level papers in academic journals such as "Management World," "Nankai Management Review," and "China Industrial Economics," and have authored over 10 academic monographs.

Recruitment Majors

The college recruits students for various majors, including Management Science and Engineering.

Application Conditions

To apply, candidates must:

1. Uphold the Constitution of the People's Republic of China, obey laws and regulations, and have good conduct.
2. Have obtained a bachelor's degree and have worked for more than three years (i.e., before August 2023); or have obtained a master's or doctoral degree; or have obtained a foreign bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree certified by the Ministry of Education's Overseas Study Service Center (before August 2023).
3. Have made certain achievements in the field of application.
4. For cross-major applications (applying for a major different from the undergraduate major), candidates must have published academic papers related to the applied major in the past three years (as the first author), or have published academic monographs related to the applied major, or have taken and passed four core undergraduate courses in the applied major.

Enrollment Procedure

The enrollment procedure consists of three stages: qualification review, online registration, and on-site confirmation.

Qualification Review

1. Time and location: From the date of publication to August 15, 2026, at the Graduate Office of the Management Science and Engineering College.
2. Required materials:

• Applicant's second-generation ID card (original and two copies)
• Bachelor's degree certificate and bachelor's degree certificate (original and two copies)
• Two copies of the "Jinan University Same-Level Personnel Applying for Master's Degree Qualification Review Brief" signed and sealed by the applicant's unit
• Two copies of the certification report from the Ministry of Education's Degree and Graduate Education Development Center or the China Higher Education Degree Online Verification Report
• For applicants with foreign degrees, the original and two copies of the certification from the Ministry of Education's Overseas Study Service Center
• Materials proving the applicant's achievements in the field of application (original and one copy)
• Five recent, frontal, same-bottom one-inch color photos (including two for the brief)

Online Registration

After passing the qualification review, applicants must log in to the "National Same-Level Personnel Applying for Master's Degree Management Work Information Platform" (website: [omitted]) for online registration.

Information Collection and On-Site Confirmation

After paying the tuition fee, the college will organize applicants to collect information and confirm on-site. The specific time will be notified separately.

Tuition Fee Standard and Payment

The tuition fee standard for Jinan University's same-level personnel applying for a master's degree is 24,000 yuan per student, including 14,000 yuan for the course learning stage and 10,000 yuan for the thesis stage. Applicants must log in to the Jinan University Planning and Finance Office website to pay the relevant fees. Failure to pay the tuition fee on time will be considered as giving up the application.

Course Learning and Examination

1. Applicants who have been reviewed and qualified by the university must pay the fees according to the school's regulations and then be arranged by the college to take courses and exams according to the master's degree training program.
2. Course learning is generally carried out in the same class as the school's research students or in a separate class.
3. Course exams are conducted simultaneously with the school's full-time research students.
4. Applicants must pass all course exams and national unified exams within five years from the date of admission. Those who fail to pass will be considered as having abandoned their application.

National Unified Examination

After completing the required credits, applicants must participate in the national unified examination for foreign language proficiency and academic comprehensive level. The examination subjects, examination outlines, and other information can be found on the China Education Examination website.

Thesis and Degree Awarding

1. After passing all course exams and national unified exams, applicants must submit a thesis within one year.
2. The thesis should be an independent research achievement and demonstrate the applicant's ability to conduct scientific research or undertake specialized technical work.
3. The thesis defense should be completed within six months after submitting the thesis.
4. Applicants who complete the required courses, pass the national unified examination, complete the thesis, and pass the thesis defense will be awarded a master's degree from Jinan University.

Other Matters

1. Applicants must ensure the authenticity and validity of all submitted materials. Any falsification will result in the cancellation of the application or the revocation of the degree.
2. Applicants are responsible for their own food and accommodation during their studies.
3. If new national policies are released, they will be followed accordingly.
