Program Overview

Doctoral Programs

The Research Institute of Economics and Management offers several doctoral programs, including:

• PhD in Economics
• PhD in Industry Economics
• PhD in Finance

Program Structure

PhD students can choose one research track from the following three: Economics, Industry Economics, and Finance. The length of the program is usually 3 years for those who already hold a master's degree from an accredited university. The maximum years to graduate are 6 years.

Program Requirements

In the first year, students must take 9 compulsory courses and pass the PhD Qualify Exam to attain qualification for academic research. In the second year, students must study at least 3 elective courses according to their specific concentration and research on a topic to present in the RIEM Academic Seminar.

• In the spring term of the second year, students must choose their dissertation topic and do an opening report.
• In the third year, students should finish their dissertation to graduate.
