Introduction to the Opportunity Scholars Program

The Opportunity Scholars Program, along with its sister program, the St. Louis Scholars, is a unique initiative supported by donors from the St. Louis Metropolitan Area. This program is designed for top-performing, underserved students, providing them with the opportunity to attend the University of MissouriSt. Louis, a public research university.

Program Details

The Opportunity Scholars Program offers its recipients a full-ride scholarship, covering tuition, residential life facilities and meals, books, and incidental expenses. Additionally, students receive:

Academic and Social Environment

Students in the Opportunity Scholars Program are members of the Pierre Laclede Honors College and live and learn in a close-knit cohort. The St. Louis Scholars Program

The St. Louis Scholars program offers a scholarship of $8,000 to its recipients. This program, like the Opportunity Scholars Program, is supported by the generosity of donors from the St. Louis area and the efforts of UMSL's faculty and staff.
