- Industry Analysis
- Competition
- Objectives, Goals, & Strategic Measures
- Culture
This is an active learning course where students will gain a clear understanding of their Total Addressable Market (TAM) and Serviceable Market (SAM). By the end of the course, students will create an early draft of a 1-3 year strategy document to drive their business, communicate with investors, and create or transform a culture.
In the first class, students start by understanding their Total Addressable Market (TAM). Once the TAM is well defined, environmental factors and competitive forces that can affect desired outcomes are considered. Based on these findings, the Serviceable Market (SAM) that best fits the products, services, and solutions is identified.
In the second class, the information gathered previously is turned into a strategy that can be shared with investors, employees, and other stakeholders. Students will also learn how to ensure that their strategy drives culture.
