The Office of International Affairs provides support for international students, including information on immigration and visa requirements.
Korean Language Program
The Korean Language Program is designed for practical Korean education with the aim of enabling students to communicate in public. The program includes:
- Daytime Program
- Evening Program
Evening Program
The Evening Program starts at night and trains foreigners who live in Korea. The program is designed for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as those who work at the Daejeon special zone or come from multi-culture families.
Introduction
The Evening Program is administered by the CNU Language Education Center (CLEC) and provides an opportunity to experience Korean culture. The program can be replaced with the Korean Proficiency Test for CNU graduate programs.
Background
Chungnam National University offers many courses for Korean and international students to enhance their foreign language skills. The "Korean Language Course" is CLEC's representative program and plays an important role in cultural exchange at CNU.
Registration Process
The CLEC program categorizes students through placement tests before starting classes.
Education Course
The education course includes four steps:
- Step 1: Individuals with no knowledge of Korean language will learn the principles of Korean vowels/consonants and pronunciation.
- Step 2: Individuals are expected to understand Korean structure and communicate in typical situations.
- Step 3: Individuals will be able to communicate on their own in public settings.
- Step 4: Individuals are expected to understand general social conditions of Korea and express themselves in Korean.
