Course Description
Websites are a powerful but often underutilized marketing tool for accountants. This module explains what matters most to prospects and clients, demonstrates simple changes that will improve effectiveness, and includes tools you can save to evaluate and improve your own web presence.
Learning Objectives
Topics include:
- how to create a search-friendly site
- what to include on the homepage
- how to provide the easiest navigation
- what drives the most engagement including calls to action and contact forms
- how to integrate the website with email and social media tactics
- discovering search trends to create the most relevant content
- understanding website analytics to continuously improve
Course Details
This course qualifies for 1 hour of CPE credit of non-technical content.
Course Requirements
This course would be for Certified Public Accountants, first in Indiana and then wherever else validity for CPE credit can be established. It would be of interest for:
- accountants in smaller firms who may have influence or responsibility for their firm's website
- accountants with CITP designation, which is an IT specialty within the accounting industry
- those assigned to oversee their firm's website from outside vendors
- accountants who serve small businesses, as they will be able to pass along some of their learning to their clients who may need it
Materials Provided
Each module page contains video instruction from faculty members, as well as supplemental reading and badges for completion.
Measure of Performance
- Certificate of completion to add to other CPE units
- Students receive 1 credit hour issued by Ball State for professional development

- Price: $25.00
- Self-paced, online, with ongoing enrollment
Target Audience
The course is tactically aimed at contacts at several Indiana CPA firms, as well as the state association (INCPAS), where a target list and publicity can be generated.
