College of Communication, Information, and Media

The College of Communication, Information, and Media (CCIM) offers a Living-Learning Community (LLC) for students pursuing majors in the college. This community provides an environment that focuses on exploring the different majors within the college and careers associated with communication, information, and media.


Living-Learning Community

The CCIM Living-Learning Community is designed to enhance students' academic capabilities and provide key resources within the residence hall. The community is located in Botsford/Swinford Hall, which offers centralized air conditioning, free WiFi, a fitness room, spacious lounges and study spaces, a game room, a green screen room, and an equipment room with technology available for checkout.


Academic Peer Mentors

The CCIM LLC has academic peer mentors who provide support and guidance to students. The mentors for the CCIM LLC are:

Residence Hall

Botsford/Swinford Hall is a state-of-the-art residence hall that offers a variety of amenities, including:


  • Centralized air conditioning

  • Equipment room with technology available for checkout The hall is coed and has semi-private bathrooms. The furniture is loftable, allowing students to tailor their living space.

Signature Experience

The Signature Experience in the College of Communication, Information, and Media offers students a great opportunity to excel personally and academically. The experience is themed around "Empowered Connections" and "Wraparound Support/Pathways" and provides students with access to innovative courses and hands-on learning environments. Students who participate in the Signature Experience receive:

Requirements for Joining the CCIM Signature Experience

To join the CCIM Signature Experience, students must:


  • Be a first-year student
  • Have a major declared with the College of Communication, Information, and Media
  • Have a roommate who is also a CCIM major

  • A Green Screen Room: A space where students can work on projects and utilize the green screen technology
  • A Computer Lab: A space with computers, including Mac desktops, that have photo editing, video editing, and design software installed
  • An Equipment Locker Room: A space where students can check out equipment, such as cameras, tripods, and sound equipment, for use in their projects
