Landscape Architecture Major

The Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA) at Ball State University is a professionally accredited program that prepares professionals and leaders with the knowledge, skills, and awareness to respond to significant environmental, social, and public health challenges. The program is sustainability-focused, design-centered, landscape engineering-intensive, and travel-inspired, engaging with places, alumni, and other professionals.

Bachelor of Landscape Architecture

Computer Requirement

BLA students entering the fall semester of their second year are required to have a laptop computer. Recommended specifications are available.


Bachelor of Landscape Architecture Pathways

There are three pathways to enter the BLA program:


Pathway 1

  • Enter the ECAP First-Year Common Curriculum
  • 5 years
  • Traditional pathway for all incoming freshmen. See ECAP First-Year Program for available tracks.

Pathway 2

  • Transfer in from another academic institution
  • < 5 years
  • Contingent on experience and courses completed, students may qualify to apply with advanced standing.

Pathway 3

  • Enter with Associate's degree in related field
  • < 5 years
  • Contingent on experience and courses completed, students may qualify to apply with advanced standing.
