Program Overview
Introduction to the Master of Architecture Program
The graduate degree in Master of Architecture develops a student's capacity for creative, cumulative, and critical thinking; design literacy; and lifelong cultivation of design. Accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB), the program is for students who seek professional licensure.
Program Options
The university offers two options for completing the Master of Architecture professional degree:
- Two-Year Program: Designed for students with a pre-professional degree in architecture from universities with an accredited architecture program.
- Three-Year Program: Designed for students with undergraduate degrees in fields other than architecture or in related environmental design and planning disciplines.
Two-Year Program Details
- Credits: 57
- Location: The first year of the program will be held at the Main Ball State Campus in Muncie, IN, and the final year will be held at the Ball State CAP:Indy Center, in Indianapolis, IN.
- Eligibility: Students with a pre-professional degree in architecture from accredited programs.
Three-Year Program Details
- Credits: 99
- Location: The first and second years will be held at the Main Ball State Campus in Muncie, IN, and the final year will be held at the Ball State CAP:Indy Center, in Indianapolis, IN.
- Eligibility: Students with undergraduate degrees in fields other than architecture or in related environmental design and planning disciplines.
Admission Considerations
Applications completed prior to the Priority Deadline date of January 31st will be eligible for priority consideration of financial assistance opportunities, including graduate assistantships and scholarships. The application deadline for the Fall program is June 1st.

Financial Assistance
Financial assistance opportunities, such as graduate assistantships and scholarships, are available for eligible students. Priority consideration is given to applications received before the Priority Deadline.
