Educational Leadership Accelerated Master's Program

The Accelerated Master's Program (AMP) in Educational Leadership offers talented teacher education students the opportunity to start work on their master's degree while they complete their bachelor's degree. This program is designed to provide a head start on the preparation and training needed for a Master's in Educational Administration and Supervision and initial license as a principal.

Program Eligibility

To qualify for the Accelerated Master's Program in Educational Leadership, students must:

• Be a current undergraduate student majoring in a teacher education program at Ball State University
• Complete at least 75 college credit hours (30 must be from Ball State)
• Have a minimum of 3.25 cumulative GPA

Program Curriculum

The program recommends beginning with the following courses:

• EDAD 600: Introduction to Educational Leadership (3 credits, online, asynchronous)
• EDAD 630: Human Resource Development (3 credits, online, asynchronous)
• EDAD 635: Educational Decision Making (3 credits, online, asynchronous)

Program Duration and Requirements

36 credit hours are required to earn the MAE degree. Indiana building-level administration licensure requires applicants to complete at least two years of experience as a teacher or school counselor. There is also a licensure exam requirement. Most students will complete both the undergraduate and graduate requirements in 5 years due to the MAE internship requirements.
