Embedded Tutoring Program

Overview

Embedded tutoring is a well-researched, highly effective model of academic support in which a tutor who has earned an A in a course (with a specific instructor) attends the course again, providing in-class support to students. The delivery in the classroom must not be solely lecture-based; there must be time for individual and/or group work and discussion.

Program Details

• The embedded tutor also holds drop-in hours outside of class.
• The program is available for various courses, including:

Availability

The Learning Center is open for tutoring and testing at the following times:

• Academic Year: Monday-Thursday 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Friday 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
• Testing: Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
• Summer: Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
• Hours are adjusted during Finals Week and Thanksgiving Break.
