Master of Science in Information Systems
The Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) at Marist University is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of information systems and their applications in the workplace. The program has a business application focus, emphasizing practical applications of information systems.
Information Systems Management Concentration
The Information Systems Management (ISM) concentration is one of the tracks available in the MSIS program. This concentration has a business application focus, emphasizing practical applications of information systems in the workplace. Specific career paths for graduating ISM professionals include systems analyst and/or designer, business analyst, project manager, IS auditor, and information systems manager. This course sequence provides the foundation for professionals who aspire to become a Chief Information Officer (CIO).
Master's of Science in Information Systems Curriculum
The MSIS program requires students to take seven core classes, which are required by all MSIS students. These core classes include:
- MSIS 527 Systems & Information Concepts in Organizations (3 credits)
- MSIS 537 Data Management I (3 credits)
- MSIS 567 Data Communications (3 credits)
- MSIS 570 Information Analysis & Systems Design (3 credits)
- MBA 674 Financial & Managerial Accounting (3 credits)
- MSIS 720 Capstone Project (3 credits)
- MSIS 730 Information Systems Policy (3 credits)
In addition to the core classes, students in the ISM concentration must take the following required courses:
- MSIS 620 Emerging Technologies
- MSIS 621 Enterprise Architecture
Students must also complete elective courses (9 credits) from Information Systems, Business, or Software Development.

The prerequisite for the ISM concentration is MATH 130 Introduction to Statistics. Career paths available to MSIS students include:
