Program Overview

Introduction to Civil Engineering Technology Program

The Civil Engineering Technology program is designed to prepare students for a variety of technical positions in the civil engineering and engineering construction professions. The program has undergone revisions to offer a more focused, directed, 1-year stackable certificate curriculum.

Program Structure

The new program course sequence is set up to allow students to progress through two semesters of core courses for a Certificate of Achievement or to take those courses as part of an Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering Technology. Students can complete more than one certificate, provided they can schedule themselves accordingly and satisfactorily complete the requisite courses with a grade of "C" or better.

Career Opportunities

Civil engineering is a career field in high demand throughout industry, government, and the private sector. As a civil engineering professional, one will provide services for planned communities, schools, shopping centers, highway projects, and more. The Bureau of Labor Statistics expects job opportunities in the civil engineering field to grow steadily.
