The Health Occupation Preparation and Education Program is designed to support students in their pursuit of a career in the health occupations field.

The program aims to provide necessary resources to students to support the successful completion of their educational goals.
Pre-Nurse Pathway
The Pre-NURSE Pathway is a new Strong Workforce Program grant partnered with the HOPE and Avanzando programs to support SRJC's pre-nursing students, especially those who are underrepresented and first-generation. The goal of the program is to provide necessary resources to students to support the successful completion of Nursing (ADN) pre-requisites, the TEAS exam, and getting through the application process.
Program Resources
The program provides resources such as:
- Textbook Lending Library for ADN prerequisite courses (ANAT 1, MICRO 5 & 60, PHYZ 1, etc.)
- Workshops on required steps in the transition from pre-nursing to nursing (e.g., TEAS exam, Nursing Program Application)
- 1-on-1 Program Support & Orientation
- Mentoring Opportunities and more
Program Details
The program is seeking student feedback on challenges, successes, and experiences as Pre-Nursing students to improve student services offerings. A survey will be developed for all Pre-Nursing students and students considering entering the field soon.
Note
The program does not provide academic counseling, Education Plan creation, or priority registration support. Students should visit the counseling website for these services.
