Introduction to SRJC for Free
The Santa Rosa Junior College believes that all students have the right to higher education and is committed to providing students with the opportunity to achieve their educational goals. SRJC for Free is the college's initiative to help students obtain a community college degree for free, now available for two years.
Requirements
To qualify for SRJC for Free, students must meet the following requirements:
- Be first-time college students, regardless of financial need
- New: Second-year students are also eligible if they were eligible during their first year. Receiving funds for the first year is not required.
- Recipients of SRJC for Free must:
- Be California residents or AB 540 waiver beneficiaries
- Be enrolled in 12 units
- Not currently receive the California College Promise Grant
- Have completed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or a California Dream Act Application (CADAA)
- Other restrictions may apply
Program Details
SRJC for Free is designed to support students in achieving their educational objectives without the burden of tuition fees. By covering the cost of tuition, the program aims to make higher education more accessible and affordable for all students.
Accreditation and Acknowledgement
Santa Rosa Junior College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The college acknowledges that it gathers on the traditional territorial land of the Pomo People, past and present, and honors with gratitude the land itself and the people who have stewarded it throughout the generations.
