Introduction to the Sociology Doctoral Program

The Sociology Doctoral Program aims to equip students with the necessary theoretical knowledge to understand complex social processes, develop the ability to find solutions to social problems, and update research methods and techniques in the social sciences.   6. To develop the ability to analyze sociological knowledge using computer programs for qualitative and quantitative analysis and to follow new developments in this area.
  7. To define and have knowledge about theories related to urban and rural sociology, demography, political sociology, sociology of gender, sociology of the body, visual sociology, sociology of work, sociology of religion, sociology of knowledge, and sociology of crime.
  8. To have knowledge about the positioning of sociology as a scientific discipline from a philosophical and historical perspective.
  9. To be aware of social issues in Turkish society, to approach these issues critically, and to have knowledge about the work of Turkish sociologists.
  10. To be aware of social issues and global social processes and to apply sociological analysis to development and social responsibility projects.
  11. To have the ability to define research questions, produce research projects, and prepare written reports as an individual or team member in various fields of sociology.
