Admission to the Masters Program in Behavioral Neuroscience (MABN)
Minimum Requirements for Applying to the MABN
To be eligible for the MABN program, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- An undergraduate overall GPA greater than 3.00.
- At least 15 credits of Undergraduate Psychology, Neuroscience, or equivalent courses.
Preferences in Acceptance Decisions for the MABN
The following are preferred in acceptance decisions:
- The undergraduate coursework includes courses in Behavioral Neuroscience and related fields like Neurobiology.
- The undergraduate coursework includes courses in Statistics, Experimental Psychology, relevant laboratory courses, or Research Design.
- The student has undergraduate research experience in a Behavioral Neuroscience or Neuroscience-related laboratory.
- The student has contacted a faculty laboratory head who has agreed to supervise their thesis research.
Prior to Submitting Your Application
The Masters Program in Behavioral Neuroscience (MABN) requires completion of a thesis based on original research in a laboratory at Queens College or another accredited research institution, which is supervised by the laboratory head. Choosing a research mentor who is not affiliated with the MABN program is possible but requires approval of the MABN program director.
Application Review and Deadline
Applications for the Masters Program in Behavioral Neuroscience will be reviewed in the Spring semester of a given year for acceptance in the Fall semester of the same year. The annual deadline for admissions is June 1.
