Program Overview
Introduction to the Evening Program
The Evening Program at CUNY Law is designed to accommodate individuals who wish to pursue a legal education while balancing other responsibilities, such as family or career commitments. The program's structure, including its course load, student activities schedule, and support services, is tailored to meet the needs of its diverse student body.
Application Requirements
To apply for the Evening Program, applicants must submit the following:
- A completed application, submitted electronically through LSAC.org on or before May 1
- A non-refundable $60 (U.S.) application fee
- A personal statement
- A resume
- An active and complete CAS subscription, including a recent LSAT score and LSAT Writing Sample
- Two letters of recommendation
- If applicable, an addendum with a complete explanation for any "yes" answers to the Character and Fitness questions on the application form
Additional Requirements for Transfer and Re-applicants
Transfer applicants and re-applicants may have different or additional requirements. It is essential for all applicants to carefully read and follow the instructions before completing and submitting an application.
Applicant Deadlines
- First-Year Entering Students Application Deadline: Fall - Apply by May 1 (April 1 is the suggested deadline for International applicants)
- Transfer & Visiting Application Dates and Deadlines: Fall - The application opens on April 1, and the application is due by July 1
Review of Applications
The review of an application begins only once it is complete. Early application is advised, as this allows for possible delays in processing by the Law School Admissions Council and ensures that all required materials are available for viewing on the applicant's CAS Report by the posted deadlines.
Application Information
Applications must be submitted electronically via the LSAC website. The LSAT Writing Sample is a required component of the application and must be available for viewing on the applicant's CAS Report by the posted deadlines. Applications will not be evaluated for admission without the LSAT Writing Sample.
