Cybersecurity Program
The Cybersecurity program is designed to meet the evolving needs of the industry, providing educational pathways for enhanced job opportunities, increased earning potential, educational advancements, and promising career trajectories. Through this program, students will earn a Certificate of Completion in Cybersecurity, 33 transferrable college credits, and at least one industry credential.
Philosophy
The program collaborates with cybersecurity industry partners to enhance the learning experience and prepare students for a successful career. By integrating industry expertise and insights, the program remains relevant and up to date with the demands of the industry. The program offers a flexible learning experience through a hybrid class format, combining in-person and remote classes.

Experiences
During the program, students will engage in diverse online learning modules that replicate real-life situations, gaining practical experience under the guidance of instructors. Program Costs
There are no textbook costs, as most courses use open educational resources. The program offers a laptop lending program, providing students with cybersecurity-equipped laptops and software. The program tuition is separate from the industry credentials, which include:
- ITIL, $314 $460
- CompTIA Network+, $338
- CompTIA Security+, $392
- CompTIA A+ (2), $492 ($246 per exam)
- CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), $950 to $1,199
- CompTIA CySA+, $392
Requirements
A high school diploma or high school equivalency (e.g., GED, TASC) is a prerequisite for participation. The program does not require prior industry-related skills or advanced math literacy. However, developing and expanding skill sets in communication, problem-solving, organization, and basic computer literacy skills is essential.
Transfer Opportunities
Students will receive 33 transferrable credits upon completing the program, which can be applied to continuing their educational journey at Guttman or any other CUNY college. Transferring to SUNY and private colleges is dependent on the colleges' approval, and Guttman will work with students to assist in transferring credits.
Advisory Board
The program has an advisory board consisting of external stakeholders committed to access and excellence in public higher education. These stakeholders are vital members of the Guttman community, providing expertise in cybersecurity, contributions to their fields, and support for the certificate program of study.
