The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Emergency Medical Services - Paramedic (EMS-P) is a university program offered at Brooklyn's first college-based Paramedic Program. The program is currently under the auspices of the Allied Health/Mental Health Department.


Program Details

  • The program starts every September.
  • Prior to starting paramedic courses, students must already be a New York State certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
  • The university offers EMT courses in fall and spring semesters.
  • The course of study leading to the AAS degree takes at least two years.
  • Additional classes may be necessary to complete the AAS degree.
