Bachelor of Business Specialisation in Hospitality Management
The Bachelor of Business with a specialisation in Hospitality Management is designed to meet the growing demand for qualified professionals in the hospitality and tourism industry. This course combines essential business knowledge with a specialisation in hospitality management, providing students with a solid foundation in areas such as accounting, marketing, management, and business strategy.
Course Overview
The course is industry-informed and future-focused, embedding themes of digital transformation, sustainability, cross-cultural management, and service innovation throughout the curriculum. Practical learning opportunities, including industry projects and case studies, ensure students are well-prepared for real-world challenges and leadership roles in both domestic and international contexts.
Course Structure
The course is delivered over three years, with three trimesters per year. Students will complete a range of core subjects, including:
- BUS100 Accounting for Business
- BUS101 Business Information Systems
- BUS103 Introduction to International Business
- BUS104 Business Marketing
- BUS105 Communications
- BUS110 Quantitative Methods for Business
Electives
Students will also complete a range of elective subjects, including:
- HMT102 Contemporary Hospitality & Tourism Management
- HMT203 Food and Beverage Management

- HMT301 Strategy Planning in Hospitality and Tourism

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate a broad understanding of key business disciplines, including accounting, marketing, supply chain, trade, and human resource management

Entry Requirements
To be eligible for the course, students must:
- Be at least 17 years old (for domestic students) or 18 years old (for international students)
- Have completed Year 12 (or equivalent) with a satisfactory ATAR
- Meet the English language proficiency requirements (IELTS 6.0 overall, with no band less than 5.5, or equivalent)
Fees and Scholarships
Domestic students may be eligible for FEE-HELP, a loan scheme offered by the Australian Government. International students may be eligible for scholarships, which reward students who demonstrate resilience, passion, and desire to achieve.
Campus Locations
The course is delivered at campuses located in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth.
Attendance and Work Requirements
International students can work up to 48 hours per fortnight during ongoing terms, and unlimited hours during holiday breaks. Domestic students do not have a working cap. Attendance is mandatory for orientation.

Capstone Project
The capstone project is a research-based project that allows students to focus on a relevant area of interest within their program. The project is worth 20 credits and is completed over two parts, with students working with the subject coordinator to develop an agreed research topic and conduct their major project.
