General Program Information
The Ph.D. program in Global Studies provides a unique interdisciplinary degree for the study of globalization, both historic and contemporary, through issues of global concern, including conflict, immigration, human rights, environment, and sustainable development. The degree typically involves a field studies component, mastery of a second language, evidence of potential for academic publications, and the completion of a Ph.D dissertation. As part of an interdisciplinary course of study, students engage with and develop mastery of both humanities and social science scholarship and research approaches.
