Program Description

The program focuses on planning and designing facilities and infrastructure in the landscape, utilizing technical solutions to strengthen essential ecosystem and geosystem services. These services include erosion and flood protection, natural purification, carbon sequestration, and biodiversity.

Education and Duration

The education is a three-year program leading to a degree in environmental engineering with a "blĺgrön" (blue-green) focus, contributing to the transition to a sustainable and climate-adapted society. The program includes a deep understanding of natural science and technical subjects, such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and geotechnology.

• Hydrology and Hydraulics: Understanding water movement and its impact on ecosystems and infrastructure.
• Geographic Information Systems (GIS): Modeling and analyzing hydrological processes to quantify and predict water-related phenomena.

Technical Base Year

For students lacking the required qualifications, a Technical Base Year is offered as a preparatory course. This year provides the opportunity to complement qualifications in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology, equivalent to upper secondary school courses. Upon completion of the Technical Base Year with a passing result, students are guaranteed a place in the Environmental Engineering Program with a focus on blue-green urban development.
