Program Overview


Program Overview

The Göç Çalmalar (Tezsiz) Yüksek Lisans Program, or Migration Studies Non-Thesis Master's Program, is offered by the Istanbul Beykent University Graduate Education Institute, Department of International Relations. The program aims to analyze the phenomenon of migration from a multidisciplinary perspective, covering fields such as architecture, design, urban planning, economics, technology, art, philosophy, and social dynamics.

Program Objective and Structure

The program seeks to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of migration, its spatial, cultural, economic, and social dimensions, and its impact on urban and spatial development. The program consists of 10 courses and a term project, totaling 90 ECTS credits, and can be completed in 1.5 years (maximum 3 semesters).


Admission Requirements

To be eligible for the program, applicants must hold a bachelor's degree. As per the amendment published in the Official Gazette on May 10, 2018, a LES (Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam) score is not required for non-thesis master's programs. Since the program is taught in Turkish, there is no foreign language requirement.


Recognition of Prior Learning

According to Article 10 of the Beykent University Graduate Education and Teaching Regulations, students may be admitted to the program through lateral transfer, provided they meet the conditions set by the Institute Board. Students who have taken courses in another university's graduate program may have those courses recognized towards the minimum course load, subject to the approval of the department chair and the Institute Board.


Program Profile

The program is designed for researchers, urban planners, architects, sociologists, policymakers, and students from related disciplines who wish to understand and interpret the relationship between migration and urban development. Progression to Higher Degree Programs
