General Description

Founding

The Communication Arts and Design Master's Program with Thesis was established on 14.02.2007 with the permission of YÖK.


Rank Earned

The degree awarded upon completion of the program is the Thesis Communication Arts and Design Master's Degree.


Level of Degree

The level of the degree is the seventh level, which is a master's degree.


Admission and Registration Conditions

  • To have an ALES standard score and score type, provided that it is not less than 55 standard points in the score type of the program applied for.
  • To have an equivalent score from one of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), which are international exams accepted by the Council of Higher Education.
  • Admission Evaluation of the Master's Program with Thesis: Admission of principal and reserve students as much as the relevant program quota, starting from the top rank, according to the order to be formed by calculating and adding 70% of the ALES score and 30% of the Undergraduate Grade Point Average.

Rules for Recognition of Prior Learning

  • In accordance with Article 10 of Istanbul Beykent University Graduate Education and Training Regulation, with the approval of the Department Head and the decision of the Institute Board of Directors, students are admitted to the programs affiliated with the Institutes through horizontal transfer, provided that they meet the horizontal transfer conditions determined by the Institute Board.
  • Based on the student's petition regarding which of the courses he/she took and succeeded in while enrolled in the graduate program of another university, will be counted as the minimum course load after registering to the same graduate program at Beykent University, his/her application showing the course contents and transcript is determined by the opinion of the department head and the decision of the institute's board of directors.

Qualification Conditions and Rules

  • Thesis: 2 years (maximum 6 semesters), 2 semesters in 1 year, 15 weeks in each semester, 120 ECTS in total.
  • To be successful in 8 courses (21 Credits, 60 ECTS) and master's thesis (60 ECTS).
