Program Overview

Sabbatical Studies Program

The Sabbatical Studies Program at Mercy University is designed for licensed teachers in New York State who are eligible for sabbatical leave. The program aims to help teachers enhance their skills and meet UFT requirements during their sabbatical.


Program Tracks

The program offers five tracks for teachers to choose from:


  • TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language)
  • Teaching Students with Disabilities
  • Teaching Literacy
  • Bilingual Education/TESOL
  • STEM Education

Flexible Scheduling

The program is offered in two scheduling options:


  • Half-year program (8 credits)
  • Full-year program (16 credits) Courses are available online to provide flexibility for working teachers.

Competitive Tuition

The tuition for the program is $470 per credit, with a program fee of $50 per term.
