Program Overview
Mercy University Business Honors Program
The Mercy University Business Honors Program is a challenging 4-year academic program hosted on the Westchester campus. Incoming freshmen with outstanding scholastic performance and a passion for business are given the opportunity to pursue a more challenging curriculum, which often leads to greater prospective career outcomes. Graduates of the program have become leaders in the finance, analytics, marketing, and accounting industries.
Overview of the Program
The program prepares students for internships through interview preparation, one-on-one career coaching, and networking connections. From freshman through senior year, Business Honors students build their resumes with real-world work experience, generally at Fortune 500 corporations, to ultimately prepare them for their dream job.

Business Honors students benefit from more extensive advising from seasoned faculty with extensive corporate experience, many of whom possess more than 20 years of real-world business experience in their respective fields.
Extracurricular Activities
The program includes various extracurricular activities, such as:
- 2025 Portugal Trip: An educational trip that provides an active learning experience, comprising future business opportunities, networking opportunities, and a general understanding of international business in a massive economic hub.
- 2024 Greece Trip: An educational trip that helps students develop high intercultural communication skills and understanding of international affairs, indulge in a foreign language, and expand their problem-solving skills.
Application and Admission
Admission to the Mercy University Business Honors Program is highly selective. An application and an interview with a Business Honors Director are required. In addition to the interview, incoming full-time matriculating freshmen are evaluated based on:
- Demonstrated academic merit (GPA 90/3.5)
- Curriculum rigor
- Commitment to leadership
- Professional demeanor
Requirements
To remain in the program, students must:
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or above
- Enroll in required Business Honors courses
- Maintain a Business Honors course GPA of 3.2 or above
- Earn a grade of C or above in all Business Honors courses
- Pursue a major within the School of Business
- Actively engage in Business Honors activities as required by the Director of the Business Honors Program and the Dean of the School of Business
- Participate in Freshman Experience Events
- Submit SAT/ACT scores by March 2025
