The Colouring Techniques program is designed to provide students with hands-on training in professional hair colour techniques, combining practical salon experience with essential colour theory knowledge. Students will develop their skills in a training salon over 20 weeks, attending scheduled classes to practice under expert guidance.

Master Colour Application

This specialized program offers hands-on training in professional hair colour techniques. Students will develop their skills in a training salon over 20 weeks, attending scheduled classes to practice under expert guidance. Additional self-paced study is required to complete the online theory components through the Pivot Point platform.

  • SHBHCLS002: Colour and lighten hair.
  • SHBHCLS003: Provide full and partial head highlighting treatments.
  • SHBHCLS004: Neutralize unwanted colours and tones.
  • SHBHCLS005: Provide on scalp full head and retouch bleach treatments.

Assessment Requirements

To complete the unit, students must demonstrate their understanding of Chemical Straightening through quizzes, assessments, and perform reflexology treatments on 4 different models:


  • 1x virgin hair.
  • 1x chemically treated hair.
  • 1x resistant hair.
  • 1x client of your choice.
