Program Overview


Architectural Restoration Program

The Architectural Restoration Program at Medipol University aims to train technical professionals with an aesthetic and historical background to protect cultural heritage. Graduates of this program will have sufficient knowledge of civil architecture, monuments, and inventory work of monumental buildings, and be able to prepare restoration and reconstruction projects.


Program Qualification

The program qualification is a Short Cycle (Associate's Degree). Students must have successfully graduated from high school or equivalent to be eligible for admission. Admission is based on scores obtained from the nation-wide Student Selection and Placement (YKS) exam, according to the rules determined by the Higher Education Council.


Graduation Requirements

To graduate, students must successfully complete all courses and internships set by the program, totaling at least 120 ECTS credits. Graduation eligibility is determined by academic average score.


Recognition of Prior Learning

Students may apply for exemption from courses they have taken in another higher education institution. Exemption requests are decided by the board of governors of the School, considering the opinion of the lecturer responsible for that course.

Employment Opportunities

Architectural restoration technicians can work in architectural and engineering offices, archaeological excavations, restoration units in National Palaces, conservation and restoration laboratories.


Upgrading

After graduating from associate degree programs, it is possible to study in undergraduate programs as a result of the vertical transfer exam (DGS).


Type of Training

The program is full-time.


Assessment and Evaluation

The success of a course is determined by the course grade, which is obtained by evaluating the student's mid-term and final exams, practical work, group work, and similar studies.
