University Programs

The university offers a variety of programs in different fields, including fashion, interior design, and sewing.

Fashion Programs

• Fashion Diplomas: The university offers a Fashion Design & Creative Arts diploma, as well as a Fashion Design Core 4 diploma.
• Fashion Certificate: The Fashion Design & Illustration certificate is available, along with other certificates in Pattern Making & Assembling Technique, Couture Pattern Making, Technical Pattern Making, Gerber Pattern Making & Grading, 3D Apparel Design & Integration, and Basic Costuming for Film & Television.
• Fashion Business: The Global Fashion Marketing diploma and the Styling & Marketing for Fashion & Lifestyle certificate are available, as well as a Product Development, Sourcing & Manufacturing certificate.

Interior Design Programs

• Interior Design Certificate: The university offers an Interior Design certificate.
• Core 4 Interior Design Diploma: A Core 4 Interior Design diploma is also available.

Sewing Programs

• Sewing Courses: The university offers a range of sewing courses, including a 2-Day Intensive Sewing course, Sewing Level 1, Sewing Level 2, Sewing Level 3, and Industrial Sewing.

Pattern Making Programs

• Pattern Making Fundamentals: A Pattern Making Fundamentals course is available.

2-Week Intensives

• 2-Week Intensive Courses: The university offers 2-week intensive courses in Sewing, Basic Pattern Making, 2nd Level Pattern Making, Fashion Design & Illustration, Gerber Digital, and Couture Embellishment.

Applications

• Adobe Illustrator: An Adobe Illustrator course is available, which covers digital illustrations, digital prints, digital graphics, digital flats, and digital mood boards.

Youth Camps

• Fashion Design & Sewing Camp: A Fashion Design & Sewing camp is available for youth.
• MakeUp & Styling Camp: A MakeUp & Styling camp is also available.

Adobe Illustrator Course

Course Details

• Duration: 6 weeks (once a week, same day and time for duration)
• Class Size: 8 students (maximum)
• Teacher: Micol Joanka Medda
• Price: $495

Course Outline

The Adobe Illustrator course covers the basics of digital fashion design, including drawing with the pen tool, applying fills and layers, working with color and patterns, and developing digital design assets that are ready for production.

Important Notes

• The instructor will work with students at their skill level and preferred pace.
• Classes with two or fewer students are considered private classes, and students will complete all assignments as listed in six weeks.

Housekeeping

• Students are expected to arrive on time for class.
• If a student needs to miss a class, they must email in advance to let the instructor know. If a student fails to report their absence within 24 hours, the class will be considered a missed session, and no make-up class will be provided.

Instructors

Micol Joanka Medda

Micol Joanka Medda is a Sardinian artist and multifaceted designer with over two decades of experience in art, fashion, film, and theater. She has worked with major Italian theaters and fashion brands, including Roberto Cavalli and Max Mara.

Dhanya Devan

Dhanya Devan is a sustainability enthusiast with almost a decade of experience in design education. She is passionate about textiles, graphic design, illustration, and fabric manipulation, and is an Adobe Certified Professional in Graphic Design and Illustration.

Program Approval

The program has been approved by the registrar of the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills. The Cut Design Academy is designated with PTIB.
